Boesmanskloof Trail

This day hike of 14 km is well known as one of the best short routes in the Western Cape and is popular throughout the entire year. For this hike, hikers have two options:

Start your hike in Greyton and we will collect you at the end of the trail and transport you to Whipstock where you can relax and regain your strength. Next morning after breakfast and a good night’s sleep, we will again transport you to the trail and you can start your hike back to Greyton.

Or start your hike on the McGregor side and do the most picturesque part of the trail to the waterfalls and rock pools (approx. 4 km’s). Return to Whipstock, stay overnight and depart the next morning after breakfast.

Rooikat Trail

Situated in the Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve, this circular 19 km trail winds through the Elandsberg Mountains and is fairly strenuous. It requires 7 to 8 hours of walking and is a bird lover’s paradise. A total of 175 species (including the jackal buzzard, African and pale chanting goshawk and African fish eagle) are well represented here.

It is recommended to do this trail in late August/September – the most beautiful time of the year.
